ONE Tsp is enough for one load in your dishwasher

Our mission was simple, develop a detergent that cleans as well as the household brands, but without leaving plastic of ANY kind - in landfills or waterways - behind. Our solution was to take an existing technology - dishwasher detergent powder - and give it a modern boost by concentrating it so that you only need one teaspoon for a dishwasher cycle. The result is a highly efficient detergent that is good for your dishes and our planet.

A teaspoon cleans everything except when I don't rinse a big mess well, which is the same as the 'regular' pods/tablets. I enjoy the concentrated powder as it saves so much space under my sink. Also, the powder never gets stuck in the detergent compartment door or doesn't dissolve all the way like the pods used to. Very happy with the subscription service, never worry about running out.

Not up to the task.

I was excited to try this detergent because my dishwasher is apartment-sized, so other eco-friendly brands’ detergent packs contain too much detergent, and the detergent tabs (the little bricks) some use are a literal pain to break in half. (I refuse to use liquid because of the plastic packaging, and I’d shied away from bulkier, heavier powders.) It seemed to work OK the first few washes - I can live with some spots and the occasional bit of stuck-on avocado - but after about a month, my dishes looked full-on dirty ALL the time. Silverware, especially, was never clean. (Yogurt! Why wouldn’t little streaks of yogurt wash off my spoons?! And don’t get me started on anything to do with rice.) I clean my dishwasher filter regularly, and neither that nor a full-scale deep-clean of the machine helped. My dishwasher also has a built-in water softener, so hard water wasn’t the issue, and I always run the sanitize cycle, so the water was plenty hot. I even tried several different rinse aids, because I really wanted to keep using this detergent! I kept at it for months! I tried using more detergent! I tried using less! But after scrubbing all my silverware by hand and giving it one more (failed) go, I gave up. I switched to another powder detergent marketed as environmentally friendly, and problem solved. Immediately. My silverware is sparkly, and my glasses are clear. The filter is far less grimy now, too - I don’t have to clean it nearly as often since the switch. I’m giving this product two stars for compostable packaging and a concentrated product that results in lower shipping emissions. But I can’t recommend it.

Thanks for letting us know Ericka, really appreciate your thorough review. We seem to have mixed reviews on this one. Some folks love it, while others are having your experience and I'm not totally sure why yet. We'll keep at it! Thanks again, Steve

Dishes don’t get clean at all.

Thanks Ben, we've had two reviews like that this week, we're trying to figure out why it works well for some and not others. Appreciate the feedback - Steve

Easy & Efficient

We love etee products, and we just started to use the dishwashing detergent. We like that it just takes a small amount, there's no plastic, and it's a good quality, natural detergent that cleans the dishes well!

Dishwasher Soap

I like the soap and appreciate the effort to be environmentally conscious, but I find the beeswax pods to be messy. It's difficult to get the soap out of the pod and the last one I opened cracked before I could squeeze the soap out. I wonder if a paper-based pod covered lightly in beeswax to prevent seepage would work better. I know that would not be as environmentally friendly, but it's still better than plastic. I will probably try some of your other products though. Thanks for your efforts.
